At their end-of-the-year party in June, the Glendora Kiwaniannes celebrated their fund-raising efforts for the year and local Glendora merchant, Connie Andrews.

Andrews is the owner of Andrews Inc. clothing store which it has been in business for 50 years!  Connie Andrews, the proprietor, has been a strong supporter of the Kiwaniannes especially helping the club with their Designer Bag Bingo event which will finally be held this November 5. Tickets go on sale on September 1. For details, visit the Kiwanianne website at glendorakiwaniannes.com.

“Connie always provides us with beautiful Brighton Handbags that are given to participants if the win a round of bingo,” said Debbie Deal, president of the Kiwaniannes.  “She and Andrews Inc., has supported our club for many years with donations and support. At our annual Community Tea, she traditionally decorated three or four tables each year and brought all of her friends.”

In addition to celebrating Andrews Inc. for their community minded support, the club presented Andrews with a certificate which would have been presented to her and her husband Gary, (who unfortunately passed away this year), for being named the 2019 Citizens of the Year.  “Kiwaniannes always supports this chamber of commerce event when the Citizen of the Year is presented.  Unfortunately, the event has been canceled for the past two years due to the pandemic.  But we wanted to acknowledge and honor Connie for the family’s strong support of our community,” said Deal.

The Kiwanannes traditional do not meet in the summer months, but the first fall meeting is planned for September 1, 5:30 p.m. at the Village Eatery.  For more information about the service club or information as to how to become a member, visit the Kiwanianne website at www.glendorakiwaniannes.org.
