SAN GABRIEL VALLEY TRAINING CENTER & GLENDORA FLORIST

Something new for the New Year!

Glendora Florist is partnering with the Horticulture Program from San Gabriel Valley Training Center’s Supported Employment Program

San Gabriel Valley Training Center is a private, not for profit organization whose mission is to provide high quality rehabilitation, training, job placement and work support services to adults with a wide range of disabilities to maximize their highest potential for successful transition in becoming independent members of our local community and find integrated community employment.

SGVTC is an “adult services program” that provides these services to individuals that are clients of Regional Center and Department of Rehabilitation. A small percentage of referrals are private clients.

The La Puente corporate location is a facility covering seven acres that houses:
A residential program for over 50 clients
A training center for local businesses to outsource their assembly & packaging needs
A 50’s Cafe to provide food service training
An environmental & custodial services training program
A basic office & computer skills training program
A Supported Employment Program that offers pre-placement training, job placement services and on the job coaching
throughout the San Gabriel Valley & Inland Empire

CRTC – Community Rehabilitation Center, in Covina, is a division of SGVTC. This training center location offers outsourcing services.

We have a satellite office located in Upland, for our supported Employment Program that provides services to clients in the Inland Empire.

Our Supported Employment Program has three job developers. We all present the opportunity to local businesses to create partnerships with SGVTC. The developers assist employers in identifying repetitive ‘entry level’ jobs, facilitating job interviews, and hiring highly motivated individuals to their workforce.

Clients in the Horticulture Program learn to grow and propagate a wide variety of cactus and succulents. Others clients creatively pot the plants into a collection of re purposed containers.

Glendora Florist has reached out and provided an opportunity for this program to share their unique, sophisticated and unusual “succulent gardens”.
